The Emotional Body

Our bodies have not forgotten nature,
nor the myths we created.
Myths that dress nature in the colours of emotions and narrative.

The Art
The art works in The Emotional Body exhibition / performance were all inspired by the way various civilisations (communities), from Greek to Roman, Christian to Hindu, installed various icons in their living and work spaces. Prayers and offerings were/are made to seek enlightenment and or placate when dealing with various emotional crisis.
Emotional Body mostly comes from remembering myths and legends, mostly Greek, read in youth.

Art that can make something beautiful
from a universal desire to understand our emotions,
to banish our fears .

The Performance - States of Being
The romantic boy sits / stands near space. Addresses a person approaching /walking past / near, asks them to cut a deck of cards and pick the top card - each card has one of (52) emotional words written on it. Suggests that they might like to try and find a match in one of the art works.. Engage and exchange in conversation, views about that particular work and the emotion. At some point the romantic boy thanks them and asks if their future self would like to be reminded of the emotional body. The emotions, depicted on separate small art works in sealed envelopes, will be mailed out at some future date, if the person wishes to participate, they can write their name and postal address on an envelope. Then while waiting and wondering when it will arrive in the mail, they can experience any number of emotions ranging from anticipation, curiosity, patience to surprise.
