Sculpture miscellanousThere are many inspirations for making sculpture and sometimes there is a reason.
Miles runs the voodoo down was a response to Miles Daviis's jazz track of the same name. ( The track can be found on the double album "Bitch's Brew" released on 30 March 1970 by Columbia. ) The sculpture was made just after the death of Gavin Hughes, my life partner of forty years, he loved jazz and this track was played at his funeral. (NFS) Bermagui was made as a 'thank you' to friends who had invited me to stay at their house in Bermagui on the south coast of NSW. The stone in the sculpture and the stones in a number of other sculptures i have made were collected while staying with them.
